Simple. I shot this w/ my phone the other day out of convenience of time. I sort of liked the shot. Just used a little haphazard blur to pull focus to subject. REASON: There was too much detail around the shot, like neighbor's homes, neighbor's car, street signs, etc.
Spent 2.8 seconds on it... and wasn't concerned about winning an award here. Posted only for the comparison of 2 black off road vehicles. Pretty cool as it turns out that "Carolina Roscoe" has a very similar setup, but I like his quad better!

Thanks for this. I am definitely interested in getting together with the group. I got really busy last few weeks and had to postpone the shoot and meeting you guys. However, when I free up a bit, I'd like to drop a post in there and see if I can join you all for a ride and maybe do a big group shot at the same time if anyone would want to do that. Either way, I'm dying to get out and get the rig dirty. Thanks man!

Once a year is overkill. You can do the C1 and EXOv2 when you first get your vehicle new. (One note, even factory fresh may require light polish to get some of the fine scratches out from shipping and dealer handling and prepping) Its very easy to apply just need to follow the instructions and use new microfiber cloth with no stitching. The results are amazing. This is the next level in paint protection. It is a little pricey. Amazon sells it but you may get a better deal on their NA website. There are a bunch of youtube videos on the technology and the end result.

If you have wax on already you will need to strip it before applying this product. They sell a panel wipe spray or you can just use a 20% rubbing alcohol 80% water mix spray to get to the clear coat of your vehicle

Vegas 4Runner meet & greet / photo shoot / wheeling
Hey Vegas Runners!
I haven't been on a ride yet with the Vegas crew and would like to meet up with you all. I'd love to do a big photoshoot with all the trucks together with a couple different setups. Then we could all hit the trails afterwards? How many of you would be game? Please PM with your thoughts on it and list your top 2 locations you think would work best. Then I'll post the list and we can see where we are on picking the best one. Ideally, it'd be a great backdrop to shoot AND nearby some trails so we wouldn't have to hit 2 distant locations. Obviously a trail that everyone could tackle would be good as all the trucks are not built out the same.
As far as the date... How's Saturday 11/15 or 11/22? Probably an early/mid morning start...
Everyone who attends would get copies of the main high resolution photos that you're in and hopefully more.... like trail shots if possible. Photos would easily print beautiful posters if you felt like doing something like that!

I am waiting for my Black TRD Pro anytime this week.
Happy to see how good it looks from these pictures as these are sight-unseen living between Baltimore MD and Washington DC.
Wishing there were more places near here where I could legally go off-road once I take delivery.
As for mods I was looking more into adding 1/4 aluminum full coverage skid plates underneath instead of the thin factory ones.
Two places seem to cater to the late model 4Runners: Bud Built and RCI Metalworks.
Will definitely look into getting the matt and the paint protection as well.

Well, if it makes you feel any better I bought extremely early when there were literally NONE to be seen. (except the lucky few who caught the Proto). Not even pictures online except 1 or 2 black pics but mostly INFERNO. That was tough as I was buying a truck that I had only really read about but never touched! Never done that before... Turned out OK in the end, but stressful throughout the process.
You will love yours I have no doubt! Post some pics when you get it and what you do to it. Many have rec'd their TRD's and I'm anxious to see what others do with it too. I'm glad this thread was helpful to you in some way. This forum is awesome and many here have helped me as well. Looking forward to meeting up with about 8-12 local owners here. I'm sure we'll get some great shots through it all. Stay tuned for that! Keep me posted on yours.... Best,

Well, here she is... Not great pics though. Still love the 3rd gen however. This truck will always bring great memories. Bullet-proof... never gave me any issues!

Roscoe, try to do the coating indoors and temp above 65 if possible for best results.

I know how difficult it is to keep black paint looking nice through the years. What did you use for wax?

It was the Highlander, V6 automatic 4x4. I miss manual and for me I would keep getting them if available. However, the wife needed to be able to drive it and she didn't feel safe w/ manual.
I waxed it heavily through the 13 years I had it. Can't remember which brand I used back then... tried a few. But that was key in keeping it nice more than a decade later. I like your 3rd too... Wish I would've kept it forever...
