Treads for rear ladder, 2017 4Runner TRD Pro

I'm looking for traction tread ideas for my Gobi ladder. Much of my use will be in snow, and climbing on the ladder will often be in hard ski boots. I would like to a) not scratch the rungs and b) not slip off and break my head.

I have not yet been able to find a commercial product, and there are the obvious home-growns (traction tape, cutting rubber hose, etc). But as with most things, it would be great if the solution worked and looked good as well.
