I have a set and while they may not feel as strong/durable as maxtraxx I do believe they will get you out of a sticky situation. Also for the price of maxtraxx you could several of these.

After doing some research, most users are complaining that these tend to break quite easily. It goes with the saying, "you get what you pay for". I'll pay the extra buck and stick to Maxtrax in my opinion.

I have a set and while they may not feel as strong/durable as maxtraxx I do believe they will get you out of a sticky situation. Also for the price of maxtraxx you could several of these.

TREDs come with a warranty, and with well over 100 sets sold in the past year alone, we have yet to be contacted for assistance with a warranty replacement. I'm not saying they don't break, but it is not a common occurrence, and no doubt Maxtrax are great too.

I will say in one of the reviews I watched the Maxtraxx were more likely to lose their little nubs on top I guess they wear much quicker than the Tredz. So just another you win some you lose some scenario

After doing some research on both I ended up getting a set of MaxTrax, not because the TREDs are a bad product. But because the MaxTrax just seemed to be a better product overall (albeit by a small margin to most people; the TRED & MaxTrax are most definitely the top of the pack in this market.) I watched a few videos where the TREDs were cracking/damaged under normal use (mostly some long cracks from it bowing a bit side to side; nothing that seemed to really hurt the over-all function,) but then again they have a good warranty so that's not a big deal to me if the company takes care of it. As for the MaxTrax losing their nubs, honestly? In all the videos I saw both the TREDs and MaxTrax are prone to that; it has to do with people spinning the tires on the ramps/improper use. Both state not to spin/burnout on the ramps as they are designed for steady acceleration.

I have not had the opportunity to play with my MaxTrax yet and I even tried to get a group buy going, but I ended up not getting enough people so it just sorta fizzled out. I did get to see some TREDs in person and they seem pretty well built; so I'd say it's worth getting them if you can't afford to pay the $300+ for the MaxTrax (keep in mind that the 42" units are equivalent to the MaxTraxs, a lot of people make the mistake of citing the shorter ones as the same.)

solid post BW's- i pulled the trigger on the TRED's last minute but i did do a quick research on both and kinda feel the same way...im not a hardcore offroader but was just looking for some recovery tracks if i happen to get stuck esp by myself..im mostly on beaches fishing but will get in some snow and mud every so often so it will be comforting to have another good option to get unstuck...i had some pieces of carpet but during my research i realized they arent the best option to have
