It is not about spending a couple grand on lights, it is about getting something quality, Like anything, you get what you pay for.


When seeking LED lights, look for products that have 10 watt cree led's, and you will find bright lights with quality led's, make sure the housing has a heat sink built in and durable mounting or the lights will bounce.

Bought stuff from this guy a few times, always delivered quickly.

For one, this isn't pirate. I have had an account on pirate for a while now and I rarely post there. Most of what I need to know can be found with a search. Yes, that is an abrasive forum... but it's the nature of the beast there.

Second, no one ever denied the quality of rigid or similar lights. They are definitely good lights... for a TON of money. Most of us that wheel do so on a budget. I do not see the need for high end lights. I don't race or do any competitive off road wheeling. I don't need to sink every dime I make into a 4runner just so I can go beat it up in the mountains. It's a recreational hobby for most of us and with that comes a recreational budget. Get off your high horse on smashing the import lights, maybe they aren't as good but they are also a LOT cheaper.

And yes, you were out of line. Making personal attacks on a "friendly" forum is not tolerated. As I said before, this isn't pirate. If you need to puff your chest out and show off how much of a cool guy you are then feel free to do so on pirate but mellow yourself down while you post on this forum.

Same thing happened to me. I ran the tacomaworld and FJ Northeaster group buys and put my reputation on the line.

I hear ya...it's just an absolute shame that someone would have so little respect for those that have faith in someone to do the right thing. Trust is hard to come by, and easy to lose. He's checking these threads, and yet he doesn't have the balls to even say he's sorry, or to apologize for taking 92 (that I could count) different peoples money, and offering no product, or no reason. I sent a text and email yesterday that have gone unanswered, so I can only assume he has no intention of doing the right thing....but he's pushing me closer to getting more than just Paypal or a CC company involved...this appears to be out and out theft, and it may be time to peruse legal action as well, and notify the appropriate authorities.

At this point, I don't know if I would call it criminal... but it's close! He has thousands of dollars from people on a few forums and is not communicating very well or not at all.

It does strike me as odd though because I put in order with him before the group buy and got all of my lights from him as promised in a timely manner. Granted, I only ordered 3 lights from him.

Either way, good luck to everyone and if there is anything that any of us can do to help please let us know!

I called his work phone number and talked to the secretary. She said that he is out of the country and will be back next week on Monday. I will not post the company he works for or their phone number, I know if it was my company in florida I wouldn't want hundreds of phone calls. If it gets nasty I may pm certain people his work information but not yet.

Assuming everyone involved eventually recieves their product as promised from "my guy in China", IMO the 1st flag of caution, all this maybe a moot point.

However IMO, as a first venture with a new business, he grossly underestimated the international cost and logistics of moving such a large order should this prove to be a legit business venture.

Further, if you choose to move forward, any warranty resolve would be a far fetched expectation. Myself and many questioned the quality of the product as well as the China logistics with some pushback from the forums. IMO again, One outstanding red flag when questioned by many, his failure to produce photos of the acclaimed " broken pallets of lights ".

Lastly, when I saw the floods of request for payment and the eager response to answer the call. I thought to myself. herein lies a lot of forum membership financial commitment without any risk for the receiptant. Who by the way, received funds to cover his wholesale cost, profits inadvance and shipping, 2nd Red Flag. The Perfect Storm for a huge financial failure to those involved, accept the principle.

A bit of advice, never pay 100% upfront to any new start undocumented companies. Especailly those over the internet baiting and trolling while creating a feeding frenzy to get in on a deal.

Just to explain my involvement to everyone with the FJ Northeasters and tacomaworld group buys (been copy and pasting this):

How I got involved:

I was prowling around t4r looking at the various venders on the site and took a look at trek. I saw there were these little lights and I thought they would be great as reverse lights, so I posted a link on tacomaworld (TW). Not much later, Troy signed up on TW and said "wow I got 20 hits from this one page. If any of you are interested in a group buy, I'll give you 2 4" XT's for setting up a list" I got to lead the GB because I was the one that posted the link.

I wanted to get my 4" XTs early to be able to test them and demo them. I found out he was heading up to Portland, ME to do a project and I met him at the airport to pick up the lights. He is in fact a real person.

I thought it was simple. Set up a list, update it, and my job was done once the GB closed.

How we know he is a real person:

If you look his name up you will find his home address as well as his LinkedIn profile. Calling the business phone you will get his secretary.

Someone called today (SVdude). The secretary said he is out of the country on business without telling us.... Lame
