UPDATE: How it sits today!

Picked up a 2017 TRD Off-Road Premium in Magnetic Grey after my 4th gen was totaled a few months back.

Just over 2,500 miles on it so far and my wife has already started asking when we can pick up a lift and tires. So......


Mod list:

- 295/70/17 Toyo Open Country MT's

- 17x9 Jet Black SCS F5 wheels -3.5BS

- Spidertrax wheel spacers
- UPDATE - didn't end up installing.

- Kics R40 lugs

- Radflo 2.5 front coilovers w/ OW valving

- Radflo 2.5 rear shocks w/ OW valving

- Light Racing UCA's

- Metal Tech rear lower arms

- C4 Fab sliders (waiting for delivery)

- BMC kit

It's going to look awesome, not many using 295 Toyo's so kudos for going outside of KO2's! They are great tires but are heavy!

Thanks! I've been doing some prep work with the fender liners in anticipation of everything arriving.

Yeah they are definitely heavy. Luckily this isn't a daily driver so I can have more fun with this rig than my 4th gen.

Mud flaps and side steps removed. Pics below of the trimming so far. Quick question...should I hammer the fender tabs flat or just simply wait to install the tires and see what needs to be done at that point? I'm trying to get as much of it done prior to install as possible.

I trimmed mine. Left about 1/2 of the spot weld.

But get you're alignment set as far foward is most important.

Looking at these exact wheels for my trail in matte gray. Will you still have to run the spidertrax spacers with these wheels?

Some people are running with and some without. It just depends on what kind of stance you are looking for and how much trimming you want to do. The further the wheel is pushed out from the center hub, the more rubbing you will have. Keep in mind, this wheel comes in two different backspacing options from SCS. I'm going to install the Spidertrax and see how it looks. If I don't like it, I'll just uninstall them and run without.

Black Rhino Liner - the shop that did the install did it for me and I really like how it came out - I had them do the silver roof rails while they were at it as well.

I had this exact setup on my previous 4thgen for about 5 years. That's the reason I went this route again...I was very pleased with the quality and the ride. The 2.5's are definitely stiffer but that's in anticipation of armor, bumpers and gear.
