Trimming Front Mud Flaps - Suggestions?

I have 265/65/18's (Revo 2's) with Spidertrax. I have moved the fender liners forward, but I would like to trim the Mud flaps to give a little more clearance at the back of the tire. For those that have done this, any suggestions? Cut, shave, etc?

I'm also installing Cornfed 1/2" spacer next week. Will this create any more clearance?

I'm looking at the same situation... my front tires rub right on the hump in the center of the mudflaps. I've been thinking about cutting that hump out and riveting a rubber or plastic piece over the hole to keep debris from getting behind the mudflaps. Some guys just remove the flaps, but I want to try and keep some protection there. Even with the flaps, I'm surprised by how much gets past.

Doozi, nice to see you have the 1/2" spacer. That answers my question as to whether the spacer install will help much.

I think I'm gonna try and remove the "hump"...interesting to see what is behind it.

I had pretty bad rubbing at the same spot with my spacers. I am running 255/75/17's (taller and narrower) and 1.5" lift in the front. I chose just to pull them, problem solved. With my tires, most of the tread was still within the fenderwell, so about the same amount of protection. Only difference is I have running boards, and they catch most of the dirt and such whereas tube steps wouldn't.

The front mud flaps do very little in the way of keeping debris off the truck. I removed mine; a couple rocks might get hung up on the lower fender line but that's about it.

synister...i wonder if with my tires being a little wider and spidertrax spacers, if my debris issues would be worse than yours?
