Trimming rocker panels

I dont have any pics specifically. It is just plastic, so you can cut with a dremel, cut off wheel, tin snips, utility knife, etc.
You basically need to figure out where you need to cut it, mark it, and go to town!!!!

OK- you got ba!!s. Even I'm too gun-shy to cut those up with a dremel. And I'm documented as a plastic hacker!

Ive strated doing mine. WORD OF WARNING: pay attention to what your doing, I got distracted and managed to drag the dremel cuff along the part I was keeping for about 1 foot and now have a nice ugly spot. I suggest working from the side your cutting off just in case you do what I did.
Some pictures of what you're actually cutting sure would be nice.

Cool. Thanks buddy. I'm trying to branch out a bit and learn to do more of this stuff on my own. So far all I have done is accumulate a ton of new tools. Still can't seem to get the courage to dive in. I do Orthopedics for a living and they say we are just glorified carpenters but for some reason replacing a patients knee or hip seems a lot easier than lifting a truck or removing a bumper.

I did not use a dremel. I did not get a clean cut with the dremel, that's why I had to buy a new rocker. Thank goodness I found one on here. New from Toyota it cost $800.00. You had to buy the hole thing, they did not sell just the outer cover.

If all goes well over the next couple months, you are really going to think I am nuts. I have tracked down a 5.7 out of Tundra. Who in there right mind, pulls the engine and trans out of a perfectly good 2010 4runner with 30,000 miles on it?????

I trimmed mine with a Dremel too. Its easy just tape off a line and take your time. Looks a lot better then removing them all together.

Jay, Sorry it took a few days to get these up. Cutting the front/outside is pretty straight forward, just tape off at desired amount you want to keep and start cutting. On the backside there are 4 plastic bracket things that need to be cut off. They are located in between the blue clips that hold the chrome strip on. Its pretty easy to figure out what needs to be done once you get the rockers off. Hope this helps.
