Trimming with Aftermarket Fender Flares

Has anybody cut through flares (such as the bushwhacker set) to allow for larger tires/lift?

Im curious to see how much of a gap, if any, there is between the fender and bumper after trimming. Ill be making the changes here soon and want to know what to expect to prepare a solution.

i want to know what most people do to fill in the hole thats left over when you cut them. i have aftermarket front and rear bumpers.. not sure if i should do this myself..

Im sure you could use body filler and sand. Maybe some kind of mesh then fill?

Not sure what you mean by the holes.

The bushwhacker flares don't have holes. They just stick on with double sided tape. The bolts are fake. The OEM holes for the clips would be covered by the new flares.

I think hes referring to the gap left between the bumper and the flare since there is space in between the two. Once cut to allow for larger tires/lift that open space would be exposed.

Bottom body Trim.....THINNER non-chrome piece available?

I have an almost 5 inch deep bottom trim piece. I've seen some that seem to be only 1 or 2 inches thick. This will give me more clearance along the bottom of my 4runner. Does anyone know what this plastic trim is called or where to get a thinner piece? I attached pics of the 5 inch wide/thick piece.

1. You can cut your rockers - a few members on here have done it.
2. Check out this mod. It's a pricey mod if you buy the parts from the dealer, but if you're lucky, you can get the rocker trim pieces from a junkyard for cheap.
3. Buy the Shrockworks trim piece that [MENTION=127657]codyHTX[/MENTION] provided.
