Trip Recap - Moab/Utah/Arizona 2017

Just a few thoughts about this thread:
1. That is awesome that you responded right away to a post on a story that has been dormant for almost 2 years lol.
2. The Angel's Landing pictures are phenomenal.
3. This quote (below) is a mindset I truly appreciate. We recently moved to Boise, Idaho from Annapolis, Maryland. Annapolis is a great place, but the east coast just can't compare as an adventure hub. My wife doesn't understand why I get so excited about spending all day in the car, but from my perspective, I can wake up, have breakfast, and be in Yosemite by dinnertime! Or Moab, or Ouray, or Rainier, or Yellowstone, or even freaking Malibu; the list goes on forever. Cheers [MENTION=80024]STX4Runner[/MENTION] !

Yeah, Florida is a looong way from Utah. People think I'm far, but it's an easy drive. I can leave here at 8:30AM, be in Albuquerque in time for dinner and a quick break from the car and then go another two hours and be in the Farmington area. From there, Moab is just about 3 hours the next day. My friend in Amarillo has it even better. He can be in Santa Fe in 4 hours, Moab in 10 and southern Colorado in 5 or 6.

Ha. I'm on here most days, so I'll typically respond quickly.

I hear you about location. I wish I lived closer, but it's not really that bad here. I can leave here after breakfast and be in the mountains of New Mexico by late afternoon, or NW New Mexico for a late bedtime and then SE Utah by lunch the next day; and Big Bend is only half a day's drive. The east coat or southeast would be hard. I've always lived here and all our trips were west; New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, etc.

Do you keep a log of all trails you have driven?
Also, how do you like those MT-Rs? When I was looking at trail rig options a year ago, I had my eyes on the MT-R.

And are you on TrailDamage.com? Both of you should be if not! It is only 12$/year and the trail database for CO and UT are unrivaled plus you get GPX files. There is so much more than what is covered by Wells or even Massey.

I don't have a log, but could probably list off the ones I've done. Fins n Things, Hells Revenge, Metal Masher, Flat Iron Mesa, Top of the World, Poison Spider, Golden Spike, Gold Bar Rim and Elephant Hill come to mind.

The MT-Rs are great. I've almost 50,000 miles on them and they could keep going for a little while longer. They're loud now that they've worn down, but not overly so. They are awesome off road. I will get them again for sure.
