Trip to South Padre Is.

Had a great time with the 4Runner on the sand. I took her from the southern most tip of the U.S. and drove as far as one can go along Padre Island -- to the ship channel. Truck handled great through very loose and deep stuff. Locals knew what they were doing. Saw another rookie in a Discovery II that was completely stuck. Can't wait to keep adventuring.

Some large debris that washed ashore. This is the longest undeveloped barrier island in the U.S. It is left as is and there are some strange items that wash ashore from the ships and rigs out in the gulf.

Those are nice pictures you took. It looks very nice down there. I especially like your truck. A 2005 silver Limited is the best 4Runner you can get!! : We even added the same mods to ours (2006 skid plate, Revos).

Thanks. I had a great time. Used deflators for the first time -- what a difference in traction you get! New compressor worked great too. It is worth it if you're ever there to make the drive. It's one you can only make with 4WD. The northern part of the Island starts near Corpus Christi and allows you to run down to the other side of the same channel I went to. It is about an 80-mile trip one way. Coming from South Padre, it is about 30 miles north to the channel.

Hey Whoknows, I really like your 4runner. I'm thinking about getting one of those 2006 skid plates like you have.

I just have one question for you or anybody that has this plate...
Does the plate have any practical purpose? or is it just for looks?

is that san padre island i heard its awesome down there alot of parting down there if i wasent getting married thats one trip the runner wouldnt hesitate to take
