Trip to the Outer Banks

Just got back from an amazing trip to the Outer Banks. I stayed in Rodanthe but took the Runner on the beach in Organ Inlet, Avon>Salvo, and in Ocracoke. I would highly recommend going to Ocracoke for some beach time. You can find yourself a spot on the beach where no one else can even be seen!

This was my first time taking my Runner offroad. I'll tell you it was a beast! Once you lock that differential it turned into a tank that wouldn't be stopped. We saw many trucks stuck in the deep sand that you can't avoid, and my truck had no problem. Just make sure to let the air out of your tires! After that trip, driving on pavement just isn't much fun anymore!

I am headed to Corova June 17th 4x4 access only houses. This year I am taking my FJ and leaving the 4runner at home.

I agree! Everyone should experience their trucks on the beach. The pics look awesome bro! Isn't it amazing how beach pics always make our trucks look so great!!?

After seeing these I feel an itch coming on. I may have to run down to NC and hit up the beaches myself. Nice weekend trip. The last time I made it to Ocracoke Island was in the days of my lifted Tacoma with the Tacoma Territory club! We had approx. 20 Toyotas all jammed on that poor ferry...lol.

My pic was from Oregon Inlet OBX. You can go on the beach at Island Beach, NJ. You have to get a permit. You can get a 1 day, weekend, or season pass. They allow you on the beach on a "first come, first served" basis. You also have to follow a bunch of requirements. One is, you have to have a fishing pole for each person with you.

On the beach I found that airing down to 20psi was enough for most conditions.
