SSO Bumper and Baja Designs light installed with running light. Did a test run with the Off Road trailer loaded to see if I needed any adjustments before we leave on our couple week trip tomorrow. Had to fill a few of the front water jugs to give it more tongue weight.

I like how this build is going. That trailer you scored is SWEET! Tell me, where did you look to find such a score? What did it end up costing? The only thing I don't like about that style is that it seems like once the tent is setup, access is limited? Or does it have a tailgate/doors? That looks a lot like an AT Chaser trailer, and those are $8000 easy with a decent build. Keep the updates coming, do you have an instagram?
I'd been looking semi seriously for a few months for an M416 trailer. I found the best resource was a military trailer/m416 trailer group on Facebook. Tons of people posting ones they find for sale and theirs for sale. My trailer is actually the banner picture for their page (from the previous owner.)
M416's are in my opinion the perfect size. They're actually way bigger in person than they look.
Since they're hard to come by, they often command a premium. I've seen some plane Jane hardly/not restored with nothing else go for $1500-$2000.
I snagged the trailer up in its current condition for $3250 and he threw in a $1400 RTT for $750. The RTT is mint, though cover is a little worn. No biggie. Also has brand new Nitto Dune Grapplers and a spare.
The trailer is in great condition. Interior bed liner and por 15 under is top notch. Rest is pretty sharp as well. I've seen fabbed lids alone going for $750 - $1000 or so as well, so really feels like a steal.
The rear has a jeep fold down tailgate to access stuff inside (I covered the jeep emblem for now). We have most our camping stuff in totes so we'll just pull out the ones we need prior to setting up the tent.
I have a lot more plans now for the trailer than the 4runner. I'd rather modify the heck out of the trailer so I can keep the 4runner more comfortable as a DD. I was dreading having a big RTT every day, but now I can keep it all on the trailer and leave it all pretty much packed. Hook up and go!
I plan to eventually add a water tank underneath, 1-2 deep cells in a nose box, water pump, and some other odds and ends. I do think I may keep my fridge in the 4runner as it's not quite as bumpy and seems like it wouldn't get beat up as much.
Outstanding build thread, I'm drawing a lot of inspiration from it! I am sorry to hear about your pooch. I have a feeling he had a pretty happy life with you. I'm in a similar position in that my black lab is getting up in years and we are trying to squeeze as much adventure in as possible. I'm currently on the hunt for a new 5th Gen after I had to give up my 3rd Gen workhorse a few years ago and am watching this thread with great interest. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing how it progresses!
