Trouble re installing skids

Today I took my skids off to clean and paint. I have an 06, they were getting rusty.

My first problem was one of the bolts snapped off and most of it still in the frame of the truck. Any tips on getting that out and getting a new one?

2- Getting the front skid back into place was not successful. I could not hook the front two hooks into the frame to get the holes to line up. I was too far towards the back of the truck. Any tips for getting those hooks to get in correctly?

Assuming they're not bent, the skid needs to be at an angle (not horizontal) for them to go in. If they're bent, you'll have to play with the angle or bend them yourself.

And regarding the snapped bolt you can try and mark it with a chisel or the like and use a screwdriver to remove it, or just drill out the hole and install a "nutsert" size m8 x 1.25 if I recall correctly. There's a nice write up on the forum for how to install nutserts. Good luck
