Trouble shooting 4wd

Before I start taking things apart. Do yall have any tips on getting the sensors off? Should I go from the hole for the shifter or drop the crossmember and lower the transmission? Should I start with the 2 on the drivers side or the one on the passenger side.

Update. Got switches on transfer case pulled and tested. The one on the passenger side was not working. Cleaned it with mass air flow sensor cleaner and was able to get continuity. Put everything back together and no change is it working. Also now I am not able to get it into 4wd by unplugging one of the VSVs. Gonna check the relay next. Any suggestions? Should I just replace that switch that I cleaned?

The switch on the passenger side is the 4WD switch that should engage the ADD relay. The next step is to test at the relay plug.

Have you checked there with the info I posted a few posts ago?

I know this is an old post but someone might find it useful. I ended up not working on this for awhile. When I got around to it I figured out it was the ADD relay. It was visibly fried.

So rarely does anyone circle back with the fix/findings, let alone 10 months later.

Thanks for the update and congratulations!
