Troubleshooting a corrosion problem

For the past few months I have been battling a corrosion issue on the terminals, the clamp and the metal tray that the battery sits on. The truck has 103k and this is the second battery. Does anyone have any idea whats causing this?

Started on battery #2 but I didn't have corrosion issues until December. The battery is probably a year and a half to two years old at this point.

Yeah, thats definitely not good.

IMO your battery is leaking (not to state the obvious) but that battery acid like you have there all over is very corrosive.

A table spoon of baking soda to 16 oz. of water and clean that shit out ASAP. ;-)

I had that problem. I could see moisture weeping from the seam of the top of the battery.

It started after I had removed/reinstalled the battery a few times and I concluded that I had overtightened the clamp.
