TRS Morimoto Light Bar--Experience?

Been wondering the same thing myself. Can someone tag me if they have any experience? I don't frequent the 4th Gen forum much.

I have the Morimoto Halos and they're great. Personally I don't love the looks of the TRS light bars but I know TRS wouldn't sell a bad product.

I love TRS - they stand behind their products.

I believe this is the 2nd Gen of the light bar so it should be pretty good

Been scouring the web trying to find a review, this is the best I could find..

Last comment on that page solidified it for me. I spoke to a rep via chat from TRS and he was helpful, however I had some doubts. The bar is IP67 where the old one was IP68. The rep I spoke with told me the new x torch is more durable than the discontinued X Bar. I just don't want to pay someone to install this and then have to it break on me.

With that said I have purchased two 40 w Pods from BlackOakLed to use as ditch lights. They come in a week and a halfish and look to be great. 2 pods were $160. Quite a steal IMO, and they have a LIFETIME warranty.

TRS products have been going down hill. I bought their previous generation bar to test it out, and it was terrible!!! They use ultra low CRI LEDs which have higher "lumens"

People always try to brag about how many lumens their led lights are, because that means they must be brighter. However, low CRI LEDs don't give you good contrast between different colors.

Now they may be going int he right direction because they list the LED bars as 5000K temperature, where as most other companies are 6000K.

But lookinh at the numbers its a 120W for 27 inches and they run the XTE LEDs at 5W each so that implies there are 24 LEDs. of the 9600 lumens that means each one is responsible for 400 lumen. And per the Cree data sheet on the XTE LEDs the Highest CRI that they could possibly be is 80CRI, which is alright but not great. You really want 90+ CRI. Now while they could be 80 CRI I'm willing to bet that they use 70-75CRI LEDs because they are a lot more available and about half the price per emitter.

Also your post made me go look at their 4banger pod lights. which they claim use 4 of the same LEDs that the bar uses and that they get 4400 lumens out of them. Also found this thread which backs up the "quality" of TRS LED products.

I am actually very surprised to see this thread because TRS moderates HID planet, and normally takes down anything that speaks ill of them.

Here is the thread about the previous gen LEDs they had. FYI, I am G352nr88 on that board.

I will say though, for the cheap ass prices that these bars are selling for. You won't find an EBAY bar that is made as well for this price.
