Truetrac

Finally finished the gear and locker swap. Changed ti 4.56 with a Detroit in the rear and a Truetrac in the front. The rear went very well with only chasing different bearings and then the front. Front end took as bit more patience the bearings did not come in any of the kits out there and had to use the dealer. The truetrac was a pain. For some unknown reason to the manufacturer the snap rings would not lock the stub shafts.
I ended up having a local machine shop remove .150 from the ID of the TT gears allowing the snap rings to lock properly. For anyone that drops the front dif knows its not a fun job but finally I'm back on the road. I took it out this morning and easily crawled up every hill in the area. One set back, the local sheriff was out on the trails looking to hand out tickets, $108 for a 2 hour trail ride, BS.

Read somewhere about the snap rings not fully engaging on the front shafts somewhere else. If I remember correctly, they did the same thing and ending up taking it to a machine shop to 'massage' it.

btw..... gorgeous truck.

Good to know, I was 99% confident with my measurements but its always nice to know someone else has done the same. Put 200 miles on today and about75 on the front. Sounds nice no noises or funky issues. Finally.....

LOL! It does look like a locking hub from far, but its not! This is what you're seeing:

Sorry for it being so big, couldn't find a smaller image of the cap and didn't feel like resizing and uploading it.
