Hey all,
There is a way to apparently turn OFF VSC on the Avalon...it is apparently in the owner's manual. (Note: there is no official OFF switch in the Avalon.) In addition, this method works on Lexus IS350 and GS430...confirmed on Clublexus.com.
HERE IT IS:
"as it states in the 2006 avalon owners manual ....start the car with the parking prake on ....then foot brake twice....(keep the foot brake down)....then parking brake twice (keep it down )and repeat till skid light is on the dash.....it will reset when you restart the car"

Can someone try this out and see if this will work on a 4runner??
This could be interesting if it works....
