Trying to Remove Brake Rotor, Having Issues 87 4Runner

I am trying to replace a broken wheel lug bolt on a 1987 4Runner and going through the steps is pretty straightforward until I remove the Aisin locking hub. Once I remove the front piece I get to a nut/bolt that will not allow me to remove the rest of the assembly.

Photos are below, any suggestions will be welcome. I've done this before on an 88 Runner, but the inside was not the same as this one.

How would I go about removing this bolt? I have a feeling it's either really simple and i'm just missing it or I did something stupid.

I've tried google and the search, but I think I'm just using the wrong terminology because I can't come up with anything.

There is no need to take apart the manual hub. Remove it as all one assembly. Once you have the nuts off, tap the end of each bolt to loosen the cone washers. The manual hub should pop right off after that.

Behind the manual hub is 54mm axle nut. You can get the socket from Napa for $12. Remove the break caliper and pull the whole assembly with the rotor attached off. You will have to repack the bearings when you put it all back together, so it might be a good time to replace them if needed.

I wish you were right, but that whole assembly will not come off as one unit.

I've done this before on an 88 Runner I used to have and there was a c clip holding it in place. Remove that and you're home free.

This guy has a different setup. When I turn that bolt the axel turns. I've tried to pry, as gently as possible, the assembly but it won't come off.

Once you get the hub off, here is the rest. I love this video. There are 5 parts to it. Great info. This works for all 4runners 86-95.

You are amazing and I appreciate the responses, but my 4 runner's hub was setup differently, possibly aftermarket. Previous owner didn't mention anything to me.

In the photos you can see the bolt that holds everything in place. There was no c clip or clip of any kind in the hub. I ended up going with an impact gun to remove the bolt and the assembly slid out nicely after that.

If was so simple that I was scared to try it at first.

Post some pics and we'll see what we can do. The stock manual hub configuration was identical from 86 to 89. The ADD hubs mount on the same bolts.

The C clip you are talking about holds the axle shaft in place. It is behind the manual hub, so the hub has to come off first. I think I have a pic, give me minute.

Just looked closer at your pic. THAT IS AN AISIN MANUAL HUB! It will come off just like in the video. YOu just have to be patient.

Here's the proof if you don't believe me. I am intimate with the whole front IFS system. Trust me.

I used a hefty piece of wood to blunt the impact of a 3lb hammer and beat the edges of the hub on my '86 when I had to pull them. I think the job was easier on my '80 and '84... the corrosion on those cone washers kept them from wanting to pop out in my case.
