Trying to replace the high mount (3rd) brake light

I am trying to replace the high mount (3rd) brake light on my 98 4Runner. I removed the two screws that hold the light assembly to the car. According to the owner's manual this should remove the red light cover and the bulb should be a simple replacement. But the light cover is attached to the light assembly and I cannot figure out a way to get it off. In addition I have a spoiler which I am hoping that I do not have to remove. I thought that replacing a brake light would be easier. Could someone please help?

The spoiler is only held on by 4 screws... it's not rocket science. It shouldn't take you longer than a minute to do..

The tail light bulb socket that you see sticking out the back simply twists and it's out. You can then just swap bulbs.

I was able to do it without removing the spoiler. I just threaded the the light assembly through the hole in the spoiler. Then 2 screws were holding the red cover in place. Once those screws and red cover were removed, it was the simple fix that I thought it would be.

Anyone know the part number for the red plastic that goes over the 3rd brake light. Mine has started cracking from age.
