TSB for seat rattle.

Hi guys I just received a call from the Toyota dealership. There is a TSB out for the seat rattle. I do not have the TSB number. I have a 2004 Toyota 4runner V8.

They are ordering a new seat.

I thought I'd let you guys know.

There was another thread earlier this week about this. Can you take pics of the underside when you get it fixed? Better yet, can you get pics of the bare frame seat bottom before they install it?
 
I wonder if I'll be able to get this fixed under my Toyota extended warranty. I know it says 3/36 on the TSB but the seat tracks and supports are specifically covered under the ext warranty.

In my case I do not have extended warranty (I have over 40,000 miles on my truck). I had taken my truck to the Toyota dealership during the warranty. If they have the complaint on record they will honor the warranty.
 
YES!!!! Best news I've heard all day. This thing has been driving me crazy. First noticed it after a few days of buying the truck and it got progressively worse. Had it to the dealer a few times and all they did is lubed the rails.
 
They need to redesign the whole freaking seat. This thing is soooo uncomfortable! Whoever has the TSB done first..... please tell me if it changes the seating comfort. Thanx
 
My dealer is not sure what they have to do and they don't even have new seat in stock. Are the screwing with me, or this TSB so new that they haven't done it yet?
 
Print out the TSB and take it in there with you. That is what I did about an hour ago. They had to order that part. And it is not the entire seat getting replaced just the frame. I will post the results as soon as the part gets in and they install it.

Sounds like nothing changed from the first so called fix I already tried. Mine at least lasted a couple of months :D
 
I think the problem is with the front cushion itself. Because you can adjust it, move it up and down, on the manual seats at least, that part becomes loose. If you grab the front of the seat cushion and move it up and down you can reproduce the movement and noise that the seat makes when you're driving it.
 
I dont care if it fixes it or not, there's a TSB and my dealer is willing to do it even though I'm a tick over 36k....parts are in...the rig goes in tomorrow...I'll let ya know how it goes...

I also printed out the tsb and brought it into my dealer. They ordered the parts and I got a call today that they're in. I should know soon if this fixes the problem. I don't really have any noises coming from the seats but the damn thing clicks and moves under hard acceleration or braking after initially locked into place. Both front seats have this problem. My wife & I have both experienced the problem on a daily basis. It's quite a shocker to have your seat move while your driving! I can't believe toyota hasn't performed a RECALL on this defect.
