I looked at your website for the letters today just to see if they were ready for purchase.
I price for the letters jumped from $35 to $50. What happens to those who ordered them when they were out of stock before the group buy ended?
Do we have to pay the $50 now? Doesn't seem the most fair since it had been discussed they would be $35 and we could add them to our order once you made enough to relist them.

Okay to update on the letters. I received my test prints this week. I processed them and painted them to compare to the hand cast polyurethane letters I have been working on. So, overall the prints came with more precise and consistent results. The cast polyurethane letters require a lot of post processing work to get them presentable. When I say a lot I mean 3-4 hours of sanding to get them painted, per set of letters. Being that the edges of the 3d printed letters require no sanding. The comparisons of the 2 version on the edges are where the 3d prints show the most differance. Also the backs of the letters have a lot more uniformity compared to the hand cast polyurethane letters.
The main issues we ran into with the hand cast polyurethane letters were tiny air bubbles on the edges of the letters, and a raised mold split lines. The mold split line are what you commonly see on molded plastics, it will appear on the sides of plastic with a small raised ridge that is not uniform with the rest of the surface. All that said it took a lot of hand sanding to get them to where they are now. In my opinion they are not perfect, but they are overall good looking.
All of that said I will only be offering the 3d printed letters moving forward. The 3d printed letters are a very slightly different font. My 3d designer suspects toyota based their logo off a font and made it custom to their liking. The price will increase to $50 a set. I way under estimated the amount to time it would take to process the letters. And this should have been the pricing to begin with. Yes, the 3d printed letters take less time to process, but they cost a lot more to have made. They are not made on a standard desktop 3d printer. They are made by a 3d printing company using an HP MJF 3d printer. So they will be a professional quality.
For those who have already ordered the letters. Your letters have been made and will be ready to ship with your orders. If you would like to switch you order to the newer 3d printed letters. We will offer a $15 order change option.
I will provide these pictures for comparisons for everyone to see. I will hand select the letters that go out for shipment.
In this first picture you will see the font comparison. The main subtle difference are in the O's and the A's. The 3d printed O's are slightly less oval then the cast urethane. And the difference in the A's is the flat part of the top of the A is slightly narrower compared to the cast urethane.
These next pictures show some side by side comparisons of the edges of the 3d printed letters vs. the cast urethane letters.

1. For those that placed an order awhile ago, How do we initiate a change order before the orders ship w the hand cast?
2. What Paint color did you use for the 3D Printed molds?

No they will not come installed. They will come with a guide template that will help you get things aligned.

Once I get the letters physically in hand then I will post them up and update here.
And paint color wise. After trying 12 or so different colors. I found the metallic grey wheel paint from dupli-color to be the closest match. It is really tough to find a color that was dark enough but had a lot of metallic flake.
How many of us are sporting the trd upper grill and driving around with a half moon gap in our grill waiting for this garnish to be made?

Looks nice! Do the ambers come on with the drls and when the headlights/running lights are on? Also, how did you get your fogs to come on with the drls?

Wired the marker lights into the parking light so it comes on with DRL, Parking Lights, and Headlights. I also used Antmans fog light anytime mod so I can turn on fogs anytime independently from the headlights.
