Tundra Brake Upgrade Parts Confirmation

Hello All,
I'm gathering parts for the 231mm Tundra brake upgrade because my stockers are junked. I just wanted to make sure I have the right parts...and that the brands I chose are acceptable. From what I've searched on this and other forums, I believe I have the right ones...

Rotors: Raybestos 96931R
Raybestos 96931R Professional Grade Disc Brake Rotor : Amazon.com : Automotive

Calipers: Raybestos FRC11550 (Are both sides the same one???)

And I'd also like to confirm, these brakes will not fit my stock 16" split 6 spokes, correct? Thanks in advance!

You are close. You need to order a Left side caliper, as they are not the same Left to Right.

From what I have gathered in my research, the 5-Stars will fit with the Tundra brakes, but the split spokes do not. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone else will chime in. Sounds like a good time to upgrade to some SSC wheels.

Looks like Amazon is not charging any cores on these calipers, which actually makes them a great deal.

The upgrade is well worth it, i feel a lot more confident driving my truck after the Tundra brake upgrade. the Stock brakes are just pitiful.

At those prices you might want to check out NAPA or autozone.. i believe the other side's caliper from amazon is over 120.

While autozone is ~75 and napa is 85.. of course both of them have cores but what are you going to do with your old calipers anyway?

Pads: I got semi-metallics from the dealership for 60.. and you can get ceramics for even cheaper (that come with shims)

Rotor: Since its nearly 50, you might as well go with NAPA or Autozone given the 1 yr warranty. Its not much but its still better than the 30 days with Amazon Prime (if you have that, otherwise return shipping is on your dime).

Brake Fluid: Don't forget to buy more and bleed.

Just a little info on this.

I was curious about the upgrade and what other calipers would work. I have an 06 SR5 that I upgraded brakes to the sport package. (minimum 17" wheels and I believe a 13.1" rotor up from a 12.5").

It appears as if the 2006 SR5 4runner calipers will work as well. Not the rotors but when I type in 06 4runner into the search bar for vehicles the Tundra calipers will fit, it comes up as a match.

Looks like I will be trying them out and see what happens. Free upgrades are always good right :yo:

I will probably check the factory rotors as well off the 06 for the hell of it.
