Tundra Coils

So I'm looking for some Tundra coils and shocks for a lift. I found a guy who is parting out a 2001 Tundra 4wd TRD. I asked him about the coils and the color code and he said that he had no idea and would check back with me. He also asked what I would pay for those and I responded 75 to 100. Is that a reasonable price if they are y/y y/b? They have 85k on them and he said he would check around for prices and let me know. I would like to get them as cheap as possible. Any input would be great.

Offer $225 for them & your reason is that they are used ;) Also what kind of lift are you building & what will it be installed on?

I just bought a set of used coils and struts from a guy off E-bay, and payed $70.00 per side. The truck apparently had 61640 miles on it. I'm still waiting for it to be shipped.

Just an added info, if the coils came off a 2000 - 2001 TRD Tundra Access Cab, it should be the same coils and struts that have the yy yb dots.......

Don't worry its not for the 2nd gen. I'm planning on selling my 2nd gen and getting a 3rd gen. I'm not sure exactly what year, but I would like a 99-00. I'm planning on using the tundra coils and a 3/8 spacer in the front. The back I want to use LC 7 wraps and I haven't figured out the shocks yet. Also a difference drop and possibly the panhard bar if I have the cash. I'm not looking for a major lift just around 3 in the front and 3.5 in the back for a little rake. It will be my DD and wheeling on the weekend. That price is a little more than I would like to spend, but I'll hold it as the highest I would go. Thanks

Ok thats a good reference point. Yeah it has the stickers on the back of the truck and he says its TRD, but anyone can put those stickers on. I'm 90% positive it is, but the guy has no clue about his truck and I'm too far away to drive up and pull the part myself. I'm hoping he can have someone remove the coils so they don't get damaged.

Thanks for the input.

I got lucky, I found my set on craigslist. I got the struts (coil/shock) with yy/yb springs for $120. He originally asked for $150 but I talked him down a little. It came from an 05 had 5k miles when removed and they look brand new. They had been sitting in the guys garage for the last 5 yrs. With that said, I would offer maybe $80 max. Look around on craigslist, I found quite a few sets going for $100-$120.
