Tundra wheel issues?

Has anyone had trouble with mounting/balancing the tundra rims that everyone has come to love? I have a 2001 sport with 90k and I just replaced inner, outer tie rods, and lbjs (not all was needed but I just bought this used in April and wanted to be safe). So, I just put on some newly powder coated tundra rims with Cooper at3s (p265/70/17) and I have a vibration that will not go away after two balancings. The most recent of which they claim to have road forced. They are going to do the tire/wheel match on the road balancer tomorrow, but I wanted to ask around to see if anyone else has had these troubles with these wheels. I know there have been some comments about the runner using lug centric vs the tundras hub centric, but too many are running these wheels without issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I also have a set of powder coated Tundra wheels, but do not have any vibration issues. The Yokohama AT/S tires do ride a little more rough than the Michelins that came on my Runner, but I only credit that to the tires and not the wheels.

I hope you find the problem. I get really annoyed on "grooved" roads so I can only imagine if the vibration and pull was constant on all roads.

Are the tires new? Where do you feel the vibration coming from? Steering wheel jiggling or feel it in the back? Have them check and make sure one of your rims isn't slightly bent.

could possibily be your tires or another thing i would ask if how they balanced your rims?
with the inner mounts or the outer rim mounts?

btw one thing i thought of when reading your title, one annoying thing about the tundra wheels are the peice of **** center caps.
fragile as they can be.. be careful when taking them off and on. although the rims dont look that bad without them anyway. HAHA

They are new tires, but the wheels were bought used from a wheel shop that had powder coated them. The vibration is felt some in the wheel but even more so through the seat. They are balancing by using inside clip on weights and tape weights. I do not want the clip on on the outside of the rim.

I'm running Tundra wheels and have no issues with the wheels. I am running used 285 BFG's on them that I picked up from a buddy, and they have vibration issues. It's not the wheels, because they had no vibes when I bought them with the wore out stock tires.

Is any of the wheel/tires taking a LOT of weights to balance? If so, have the tire store break the bead on the wheel/tire and spin the tire 180* and mount it back up. Could help it balance much better.

Also, put each wheel/tire on a balancing machine and spin it. Look for wobbles or bent places on the wheel. If you can't visually see any, you can break the tires off and check the balance on each wheel itself. Spinning them individually will narrow your problem...and I think will reveal either a bent wheel, a bad tire, or a bad bead matchup (need to spin 180*).

Well, they performed a wheel/tire match balance (spun the wheels inside the tires to match high/low spots) and it seems to have removed the balance issues. I still have a vibration/looseness in the chassis on rough pavement or when hitting bumps. So, the search continues to find the source.
