Turbn Signal Bulb..

Hi, I have a 1999 4Runner, and am having a devil of a time getting to my drivers side front turn signal bilb, whoich burned out 2 days ago. There is the one scre that attaches to the grill side, but nothing ele I can find, and it wont pop off like the rear lenses do...

Any ideas for this FNG?:crybaby:

Are you talking about the turn signal on the front of the truck or the side marker light near the headlight?

Seems like he is talking about the side marker near the headlight. You just take that screw out and pull it till it comes out if you're referring to the sidemarker near the headlight.

Yeah, the one directly to the side of the head lamp, with the clear and yellow. It will not pull off no matter what I do. Maybe it is stuck, but which way does it pull? I know the rear light module goes out towards the side, but am not sure about the front one. Wondering if a shot WD-40 into the rear of it is in order to loosen it up, 'cause it certainly ain't coming off easily.

I had the same problem. One side was easy to take off the other was a PITA. I ended up using a screw driver to pop it off. If you look where the light attaches there is a socket where a plastic nipple from the side marker goes. Chances are this is where your side marker is stuck. I had to pry it out to release it.

Pulls straight out to release. get your fingers behind it on the part closest to the door and your other hand on the front. Wiggle and pull pretty hard and it will come out. You can't be scared pull the hell out of it.

it's very well known that the 3rd gen 4runner side marker lights do not come out that easy. Both mine give me troubles but I'm use to it now. Like cj80 said just try to pry it out sraight. Get your fingers behind what you can of it and just pull STRAIGHT out. You can wiggle a little bit but not much. If you pull at an angle you 1) most likely will never get it out and 2)might break one of the pins on the back that connect it to the body. Hope this helps.

Had the same problem too. I had to use a screw driver to pry it out. I just put enough pressure to pop it out.
