Turbo Metal HID projectors

This is a realllll long shot, but I was talking to turbometal.com about making hid projector housing for the 3rd gen 4runner (they make housing for 1st and 4th gen 4runners) and this is what they told me:

It is something that can be done, but to make a headlight the manufacturer would require at least 300+ pre-sold sets.
If we can work together to make this happen we would be more than happy to move forward.

What do you guys think?? OH, and by the way, they make halo projectors :jump:

halos or not, im in. as long as they would be cheaper than the normal cost of doing a retrofit, and as long as they are glass, and not cheaply made

from a manufactures prospective it wouldnt be enought they would need more than 5 to break even

If they had enough demand to make them for the 1st gen they should definitely be able to meet demands for a 3rd gen.

Ok mr downer. Why do you think the first thing i said in the first post was that this is a reall long shot? Im simply gauging interest, without having any real intentions of getting these into production. And besides, if they can actually sell 1st gen housing, then i see no reason that there wouldnt be a large market for these if not 10x larger. In this economy i have seen more people buying lifts, new tires, rims, retrofitting their own projectors illegally, and just flat out blowing money on their rigs. Me included. 300 is not a very large number to sell, but it is different when they have to be presold before production, i understand that, which is why im trying to get it done. Gotta start somewhere buddy

Lets do this. Besides the only way the economy will get better is by consumer spending and not saving. Projector lights is a good start.

I've been reading 'bout doing my own retrofit for the last few weeks, but if they can put some together for less AND be just as impressive, count me in!

Most likely the results won't have anywhere near as much output as a retrofit but it is still a better option than a Pnp kit.

+1, I have yet to see an aftermarket mass produced headlight produce anywhere near OEM projector output and quality. Most have poor cutoff designs, IMO retrofit is still the only way to go.

Count me in too. I've been looking for projectors for a long time. I'm a newbie to this site, but have been a visitor since day one.
