I'm tring to debug a no crank issue with my 91 V6 auto w/3VZ-E, 4x4.

What are all the elecro/mechanical processes that happen when the key is turn to START? I need to go through this thing inch by inch.

My problem is the no crank when the key is turned to START, but several relay clicks do happen. No starter engaging (but it's a new starter) and there is power to the accessories. Perhaps old alarm is still connected to ignition kill. I do still have to check the condition of wires under there sleeves. And the battery if fine.

as far as i know the only difference between 'on' and 'start' is the started motor is engaged in start.
The FSM lists the Neutral start switch as a possible problem, maybe check that out

Thanks, n8buddy. That's on the top of my list to check.
Do you know if it's easy to reach the Neutral start switch to test?

im not sure; I have a manual tranny and the FSM doesnt show where its located. Just climb under the truck and look for a screw in unit with a connector and wires coming out of it. It should have 4 terminals according to the FSM; continuity between 2 in park/neutral, continuity between the other 2 in gear.
