Turn signal hyper flash

I just changed out my turn signals to LED and I'm getting a hyper flash. As I looked online/forum and I am now confused on the solution. Do I need flash resistors or something else? All four turn signals are LED so does that mean I need one resistor for each signal and at what OHM (3 or 6)?

I was thinking about ordering these:

youre better off getting a different flasher relay otherwise you defeat some of the purpose of the led in the first place. let me see if i can find you what you need. i should have it somewhere, since i did this a while back myself

bit of a pita to change out but not too bad, you have to unbolt the inside fuse panel to get to it, (it plugs into the back of it). on my 2000 there was a small adapter piece inbetween that ommitted one of the pins on the relay. I removed that, plugged this directly in, and it works like a champ.

Just keep in mind that the flasher is somewhat difficult to get out. You have to remove the left side door sill plate (the plastic piece that sits on the door sill), the left kick panel, and the lower dash. In order to get the lower dash you have to unscrew the hood release and fuel door release levers. Then you have to unbolt (but not remove) the fuse block. The flasher is on the back of the fuse block.

I think if it was me and I had to do it over again, I'd just get the resistors and leave it at that.

Are LED's Worth It?

Thanks for the help guys. I removed the LED turn signals because I was noticing a judder when I accelerate and have the turn signal on at the same time. After I removed them no prob. Would the Flasher fix that? Also the High Beam light is on but dimly lit… is that an LED problem too? :redbrick:

Deff worth it in my opinion. Im no mechanic but i cant imagine that the led's should have any effect on performance other then the possibility of triggering your abs warning light. It seems like different people have different experiences in terms of what actually triggers the warning. For me it was going led on the 3rd brake light. The fix for that would have been a resistor but at that point id rather just put the oem bulb back in.

Fwiw i didnt have as much trouble as martin did. I only unscrewed the 4 bolts for the lower dash panel. I didnt remove the gas/hood release cables, it seemed to just dangle fine. I also didnt remove the door sill or kick panel either. Granted its pretty awkward to get to, especially for a bigger guy like me, but all said and done it prob took me 20 minutes and a sore back to swap out.
