Turning a SR5 into a SE

I have a 2003 Silver SR5 and I would like to change somethings on it that makes it look more like a SE. What do you guys recomend? I have leather seats and the leather steering wheel with the radio controls. I am planing on getting the hood with the scoop and a spoiler. I want to get some 17 inch rims and maybe change the sr5 decal to a SE one. Let me know what you guys think.

Does the SE have more ground clearance?

Why bother? If you like the hood fine, but why put different badges on? It's like the Honda Civic guys who put Type-R badges on their cars to make them faster  I dunno, don't let me stop you from doing what you want on your truck but I'm just stating my opinion.

No.. thank you .. thats.. why I started this subject.. thanks.

what about the the clearance.. is it the same as the SR5

You can purchase the rear spoiler for less than $150 and then put it on in your driveway in about 2 hours. You have to drill (4) holes into the upper portion of your rear hatch. I did this upgrade by myself one saturday morning. I bought mine from spoilerdepot.com

Good Luck!

Instead of rebadging why not just debadge. If you like the scoop replace the hood. As for the leather interior and rear spoiler those can be had on all versions not just the SE. Also, the ground clearance is the same regardless of trim level.

The SE won't provide any more hp of course if your vehicle was Salsa Red, well then, that would be worth quite a few extra hp;)

Thanks guys.. I will start looking for a spoiler and a SE hood. It will take me a while but thats. ok,, I am loving my truck.

does anyone know where I can get some junk yard parts for my 4 runner.. please send me some links.. I live in Houston Texas..

Not to ask the obvious, but I'll do it anyway....have you checked the junk yards in Houston?

Another big item that is standard on the SE is XREAS but you shouldn't add it this late in the game. It's big $ to retrofit, may not last (seen posts on here from members who've had problems with it) and the money would be better spent on a lift instead. Get the hood, debadge it, forget the spoiler (future rust at the new drill holes), lift it and put bigger tires on custom wheels. Why make it look like a stock SE when you can mod it to improve the look the way some SE owners have.

hey,, jharris2

I have check some here in Houston,, but since I am new here I dont know where are all the junk yards.. when I go back home I always check the local junk yards..

thanks,, Kmvreter

I will look for a hood and maybe,, stiffer suspension. I was planing on getting some 17" OE rims from ebay.. but I am not sure.

If I get a stiffer suspension will it help on the curves and the highway?
