I drive a 2002 4WD SR5.
A few days ago, I was on an onramp to a highway. It was a clover-leaf, so I was turning right while going a decent speed. Suddenly, the dome light started blinking, along with the idiot light that says a door is open, and the doors unlocked. When I got on the highway and straightened out, the flashing dome light turned off, and everything went back to normal (except my doors were unlocked now). I have since replicated this problem whenever I turn right (not left) at enough speed to feel Newton's laws in action--a really slow turn does not cause the problem.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure there's a sensor in the door or something that's going haywire.
I have 70K miles on it, and I paid the premium 4 years ago for the best warrantee (which I think is 6 years/100K miles), so this better be covered, whatever the actual cause it. I'm taking it in tomorrow.
Has anyone else ever had this problem? Thanks.
Oh, and I'm a new guy who obviously registered just so I could ask this question, so, here's some pics:
Towing a trailer with 2 motorcycles from Virginia to Daytona Beach, Florida for Bike week. Out of gas. Protip: when towing a trailer, do not wait for the gas light--when it comes on you have 3 miles of gas left. We were a mile from the station I had intended to stop at.
