1999 SR5 4runner alpine amp front speaks . random back speaks, stock tweeters

First im pretty sure my tweeters are blow they crack. I have an alpine system but not alpine tweeters i wanted to know how to take off the cover to the tweeters i can get the passenger one off but not the driver. So i wanted to know would it be easy to install my tweeters?

Secondly I have been thinking about subs for a long time I was very close to buying from crutchfield.com but i changed my mind because i wasnt able to listen to them before purchase. I was thinking of a double box with 10"s but i like my cargo area. So maybe a single 10" or 12" in a truck box? I dont know what should I do i already have an amp hooked up but im not sure if my radio has 2 amp inputs. What would you do with about a 0-400$ budget id rather not spend 400 but id like to know what i could get for the big bucks. Also i know you dont have to have an amp for the subs but is it pointless not to?

Yes you do have to have an amp for the subs....unless you plan on just having them in there to take up space.

You'll need to pull the door panel off in order to get the tweeter out. 2 screws when you pop off the arm rest on the panel, 1 behind the latch, 3 push pins and the panel should pop right off. Do a search for speaker install in 3rd gen... shouldn't be hard to find instructions if you can't figure it out.

$400 won't get you a whole lot of DECENT stuff... I recently hooked a friend up for a little over $400 for an Alpine MRPF450 amp, 1 JL 10w3, ported box, and all the wires... Thats a pretty base stereo and thats with about $150 knocked off the bill at full retail.

You can get some cheap shit if you want just so you can say you have subs... I say save your money and get something you'll be happy with.

are u familiar with the Sony XM-1252GTR amps if so do u think maybe that with a single 10" or 12" R series alpine?
or would that even put out. i want to be able to hear some bass outside the car wich u can already do with my current setup but i want a little more do you think this would put out.

go tarheels by the way UNC!

ha hold up man... where in Charlotte are you located? I work in Char at a well known shop... none of that best buy garbage either...

ohh i havent been there been to the independence one tho
ill have to look around at some stuff you could quote it.
sounds like you have a good job im jealous
do you sell or install?

i need a spot for my amp tho i already have one under the drivers seat
and the passenger seat has a fun under it.
so is it possible to install the amp on the box or something?

I took out the rear storage in mine and put an amp in that spot. I'll take a picture of it as soon as I get a chance.

You can also put the amp mounted to the back of the seat. I don't suggest putting it on the box just for the fact that you may want to take your subs out at one point and if you have it on the back of the seat, all you have to do is unplug from the box.

any suggestions on what i should do as far as subs tarheel? i have my spare tire in the trunk as i can't run it under my 4runner due to my exhaust? maybe something like a single 12'?

I put a single JL Audio 10W3 in a friends 4runner last night. It was running off a 400 watt amp and it sounded awesome! The sub was in a ported box as well.

Speakers

KTBoarder, What kind of speakers did you put in your front and rear doors? I have a 2002 and was researching what type of speakers to put in mine. Thanks for your help.
