Before I head down. You can see some of the "roads" I have been on.
All in all a good time. Like I said in a previous post. Have to try to get stuck and unlikely to break anything. Worked well for my first time "offroad" with my daily driver.

Hi from Duluth,
Hope a few of you still do a run somewhere this Sat. I, however, have family "things" for the holiday weekend.
Don't be afraid of the Iron Range OHV Park. From what I have gathered, they have green, blue and black routes. If you go on youtube, you can see many videos. Or, if you go on mndnr.gov, there are videos and still photos.
Have fun. Take some photos.

I don't think I'll be able to go this weekend. My MIL is coming into town and I've still got work to do on my fence. I really want to go somewhere.....but it's going to have to wait till September or later.
Be safe of you go Dave! Would like to go off-roading with you and not almost get our cars impounded.

welcome to the new 4 runner owners around our neck of the woods. this subforum is kinda dead so if anyone is interested in doing some wheeling let me know. i tried a few different times to get something going but don't seem to have much luck... hopefully one day we can get a few interested people together and get our 4 runners a little dirty...
also, if any local people are insterested i have a 2011 sr5 and got the custom brackets built to run n-fab step bars. i plan on removing them and selling them all together but don't want to hassle with shipping and stuff so i prefer to sell locally. i also changed out my front bumper grilles to a grille craft black mesh set. i recently got a winch so removed my lower grille if anyone is interested.... (i have pics on my profile)

I didn't know a thread like this existed I thought there was just the TC group thing on here. I live in Richfield work in Mpls and Bloomington and on the weekends I'm near walker.
Winter driving tips?
Hi,
Have moved from AWds and subarus. In 2wd, this car seems a little slippery in icy conditions. Maybe I am just getting used to it (SR5), but would appreciate any driving tips as winter comes on.
It seems ok when I go on country roads in 4wd, but i live and drive in the cities most of thetime.

As the previous poster said. Although some don't like to be run on dry pavement or at speed switching into 4wd the 4runner has one of the best sytems following Subaru. Its all we drive in my family, and in fact just bought a 16 Outback on Saturday. In the winter time if expecting inclement weather or there is residual from previous days weather I just run the 4runner in 4wd until weather conditions clear up.

That is absolutely CORRECT. You can switch INTO 4wd at 65mph or under while driving in a straight line. After you are engaged into 4wd you can drive as fast as you want(or the weather permits).

I go on memorial weekend every year, they haven't updated there website yet but it's always memorial weekend. Everyone is welcome to come. Most people camp out and there are easy to hard trails so there are beginners and people who are experienced who show up. It's a lot of fun I also go on one of their trail rides toward the end of the summer.
