two newbie questions for you...

A couple of questions on my new 4Runner that I am trying to sort out. I Did a little research, but couldn't find anything. First, whats with the two covered mounting points on the driver's side headliner for a handhold, or as my wife calls it... the "Oh Sh!t bar", that isn't there? I am guessing it's for other countries that have right hand drive.

The other thing is that I find it interesting that the only thing that isn't illuminated on the dash at night is the wheel that controls the dash illumination. For such a well thought out SUV, it's hard to believe they forgot to light the "light" control. LOL! Does anyone else's light up?

Thanks!

Yup, you can buy the "Oh shit handle" and install it. They probably left it out for tall Americans so they wouldn't bump thier heads.

Yeah mine doesn't illuminate either. I don't really mind. I set it at it's highest setting and haven't messed with it since...

Welcome to the forums BTW! Get some pics up. We here like to see 4Runners, even if they're stock :D

The dash brightness wheel does not light up. If you think that is bad, try opening any window but the drivers at night or try adjusting your side mirrors. That is another areas Toyota forgot to light up. :p

They forgot to light up a number of buttons inthe cabin:
The trip buttons, the homelink, sunroof, as mentioned window buttons on all doors, mirror, etc

That's one thing I liked about my girlfriends Volkswagen, it seems EVERYTHING inside lit up at night. I wish at least the window controls in my 4R (which could be placed in a better spot, but that's another discussion) lit up, they're hard enough to find during the day much less when it's dark.
