Every time I see pictures of your nearly rust free, labratory example of an undercarrage I get a little misty eyed. You've got a handsome ride indeed. I too would like some of these cap stickers in a month or so, the wheel tire replacement is impending and the 17x9 -12's ought to fill my flares nicely.

Just kidding. I can't imagine living somewhere where I would have to deal with rust. I don't take my rust-free undercarriage for granted though. I love working on my rig, and I know it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable if I had to spray everything with penetrant, and deal with bolts breaking.
I'm very jealous, as well as happy for you to get the et-12 17x9's! They should be an absolute perfect fit [emoji1360]

I'm considering selling my Superflex springs and Bilsteins for a set of 7.5 wrap LC coils and LC Tokico shocks.
Anyone have good enough experience with both to give an opinion?
As you may have gathered- I really like to use as much Genuine Toyota parts as possible. I also know Steve(SS) has a very strong opinion and preference toward the LC7.5/Tokico combo.
I'm not completely unhappy with the current SF/Billy, but I think I would prefer a little higher spring rate- are the LC7.5 coils a higher rate? I am also considering lowering it a little, so I would appreciate anyone who could give me center-of-hub to bottom-of-fender/flare measurements- without a body lift- on LC7.5 coils.
I think the 3rd gens are very unbalanced- as far as spring rate fr/rr. Like how the rear articulates far more than the front. Yes, I do understand why it does- and we all love seeing that rear end tweaked hard- but I'm not convinced that's actually a good thing(the rear being much more flexible than the front).
Another complaint I have is the limited up-travel- but the LC shocks are the same dimensions. So maybe I need to evaluate the lower shock mounts.
Just what's currently going through my head...

And on the VW's I am getting ready to revive my late brothers ratty MK3 Jetta with a VR swap for my youngest son So I always enjoy seeing cool cars in the background.. especially bagged ones! Dude, I absolutely love this build! I wish my truck was as clean as yours... My paint is just completely ruined from tight Tennessee trails lol. Super jealous of how clean your engine bay is (even though mine is cleaner than 95% of the ones I see)

I try to keep all of my mods functional sort of like you have done with yours. I'll be keeping my eye on this one for sure :snacker:

If you read through the SS site it's clear that he has a very strong opinion and preference toward everything he sells. His "my stuff works correctly and every other manufacturer's stuff doesn't" attitude is why I'll never buy anything from him.

As for springs. The 7.5 wrap LC spring is the lowest spring rate of all of the LC springs. I am fairly certain that the superflex is higher than them.

It seems as though you're in the same boat as me (wanting the rear lower) but honestly, aside from a custom made spring, I cannot find anything that will fit the bill. Since my rear is so heavy that the "progressive" section of the springs are sitting on top of each other at ride height I have considered cutting off a wrap or two. However, since they're a "square end" spring, I don't think it would be the best idea I've ever had.

I've also considered dropping down from the OME 861 to the 891, but have read that with as much weight as I have, the 891 simply cannot handle the weight.

Perhaps the 891 would be a good option for you? There's a set for sale in the classifieds right now for $50+ shipping if I remember correctly.

Thanks a lot! Man, I'm constantly shocked at some of the paint corrections I see. It's crazy how well you can turn paint around. I would seriously get a DA(that's what my Porter Cable is) and see what you can do with it. Sure, it'll just get scratched up again, but it's still fun to see it shine!

Yeah, I know he does have that attitude with his stuff. He's really got me wanting to do the Tacoma FSB TBH though.

Yeah, even with no weight over stock at all, my first 5 coils are stacked too. I think they only function to keep the spring from popping out under droop.

Thanks! It's probably the nicest piece "we've" built(she drilled at least 12 holes ). We're slowly refining our skills. It a lot of fun. The biggest piece we've done is our king bed frame- that was a chore.

Have you checked into having coils made? There are a couple places in Portland that build springs, and it might be more reasonable than we realize.

A custom set from Deaver will run you about $400 shipped. That's as far as I got. Not incredibly expensive, but I would hate to spend more than twice what an OME spring costs, install it, and not be happy with it. Not many have gone that route, and my pockets aren't quite deep enough to guinea pig such a thing.

That is sweet rig. I put an 02 limited int into my 98, but haven't wired everything in yet. I like how you've executed your oem mods. Did you get the garage door opener in the visor to work ?
