tyrd wheel vs stock wheel

Hello.
I traded my 2006 t4r(around 300k miles) in a auction price for
the 2016 trail.
Everybody is talking about TRD wheels.
Is there any benefit of TRD wheel over the stock wheel ?
( i.e. weight save or road performance or any)

I say it is more for looks if you surely want the TRDPRO look... At the end we 4runner lovers are all about the looks...

Possibly some slight weight savings from alloy vs steel, hence a slight gain in road performance (probably not measurable). Mostly cool factor, just like with any other aftermarket wheel.

The stock 4Runner wheels are all some sort of aluminum alloy. Only the wheel that has the spare tire is steel (and that is just on the non-Limited trims).

Both posts are true.

I weighed my TRD wheels and they were definitely 5+ lbs lighter than the SR5 OEM wheels that came on my T4R.

I just swapped out the Trail wheels for the TRD Wheels yesterday. Having moved them around yesterday I can say the TRD wheels are considerably lighter - but I don't know any advantage to them over the stock Trail rims. I, like most, prefer the look of the TRD rims.

I purchased them for the looks, the weight savings was a plus when I also changed to a heavier tire.

I definitely considered it a win-win !

YMMV
