Tyres 305/70/16

dear all
I really want to get a set of BF Goodrich AT 305/70/16 for my 2001 4runner, does anyone have this tyre config or anyone know how many inches shall I lift the toy?.

by the way is there anybody in US that can help me to get these tyres...I can save around usd$1000 on freight since i can got the transportation via seafreight with friends but i need somebody there that can get the tyres up to the port....

in chile where i live there i can not find this size.

thanks, i can find same size but not a BF Goodrich and price for a set here is a little bet more than Us$2000 !!....so if i buy it directly in us the set will cost me around us$1000.

I have a friend that is running 305s with 3"+ of suspension lift plus 1.5" of body lift. He had to do some cutting and pounding (mainly on the rear edge of the front fender openings, by the firewall)

That's some serious savings if you could actually get your tires from the US...I feel ya because most of the items I buy for my 4runner comes from our Southern neighbor also.

I also run the same size tires and if you will use your truck to wheel, you'd most likely need to have atleast 3" suspension and 1.5" BL to be safe, that's what I have although all I did was pound the pinch weld and re screw the fender linings real flat to eliminate any rubbing off the front wheels.

blcktpgsr, do you have same size tyres? I would use my 4r for four wheel driving mostly on sand, on mud some times. if you do the same how it feels the toy so tall? a little unsafe may be?...thank you for your comments, I would like to lift it as less as possible.

IMO 305s look great but you need wheel spacers to run them so you don't rub ucas and they will rub the back of the fender as well

Yes sir I do have the size tires. Anytime you lift a truck puts you closer to a risk of a rollover because of higher COG, but alot of that solely depends on the driver and how you handle your truck on and off road coupled with common sense.:biggrin2:

Also the added height is compensated by the wider tires adding up to a more wider truck stance. This 3" suspension and a BL is a common setup used by the majority of members here when upgrading to a 33" tires.

Personally it doesn't feel unsafe at all.
