I have a 1999 Limited T4R without the tow package and am looking to add a tow hitch, mainly for bike rack and motorcycle trailer. Uhaul has a 2" Class III for $200 installed (and I will buy an aftermarket plug &play wire harness later). Does anyone have experience with this U-Haul hitch?? Model #75091, supposedly bolt on with no drilling. My spare tire underneath is 265/70/16 and hopefully will not need to be relocated. Thanks for any input.

that looks almost identical to my "hidden hitch" which is great because some othe hitch desiengs require you to remove the whole rear bumper to install, these ones simply just bolt up so if they are charging you for install on this i'd just skip it, it's literally 6 bolts and is very easy to do, i transferred mine from one truck to teh next in about 10 mins including loosening the rusty bolts on the old truck, so total install time by itself was about 2mins.
the 265 will fit perfectly as that's what i have on mine for a spare and the hitch hugs the spare nicely, i didn't even have to lower the spare to install the hitch, the spare actually helped the hitch line up as i was tightening the bolts down.

with all of that said though, the one you listed is only rated to 5k lbs, there are others that look exactly the same that are rated at 6K lbs but cost about $40 more if you care that much about the extra load rating...and to be honest our trucks are only rated at 5k for towing anyways, i just wanted you to be aware that there is a higher rated one out there though it may not be useful imo, i'll let you make that decision...

Thanks, I had heard that source of some Uhaul items was Draw-tight, and identical item # suggests that is right. I'm sure my bolts are rusted and I'll probably let the uhaul guys install, but very glad to know the fit and quality is good. I don't need more than 5000 lbs towing.

Wouldn't you have to take off the rear bumper regardless, to access the inner frame rail? Our 4runners didn't come with pre welded nuts on those bolt holes, so you would need to have access to that area to add and tighten down the nuts.

No need to remove the bumper.I installed mine in about 45 minutes. I also tow my Bay Stealth all over the Gulf Coast and have never had a problem...

Afaik that could be true as at one point the new truck had a hitch on it, on my installation however the threads or nut was in place already , so no need to remove , some hitch styles require removal regardless of the nuts being in place , the type of flange mount above doesn't require it , i cannot say that i know for sure how they came from the factory with the nuts in place or not . Good catch , even if its not op's problem since he's paying for installation

the factory hitch should bolt straight onto any 4Runner. Even if it didn't come with the tow package, I believe the holes are still there.
You can find a tow hitch for about $75 at a scrap yard.
