Ugh Canada is too expensive M1 oil

So I did an oil change today in my 4th gen and changed to mobil 1. The oil and the filter was $84 which I thought was expensive. I looked it up online and found that oil and filter is around $30 in the states! I suppose its the same story with gas and pretty well everything else. I guess ill stock up next time im in montana

Last I got Mobil 1 for the oil and a filter was $40

I just looked at walmart.com and 5qt of m1 is $25 oil filter is $10 for oem in canada so i assumed around $5 in the states. Still over 50% cheaper @ $40

You might be comparing two very different oils. In the US, group III oil can be marketed as "synthetic". Not sure about Canada....but for sure you can't do that in Europe.

Its the exact same oil. $24 for 5qt at walmart.com and $48 at walmart.ca

Actually depending on the specific grade they are different composition/formulation between the US and the EU.

There are better oils out there anyways, so what other brands can you get up there?

$35 for 5 qts or a 5L jug + a mobil 1 filter on sale at autozone. The regular price is closer to what you are paying. $8.99 per qt + 12.99 for the filter. That equals $58.

We get all the same brands as the usa royal purple ams oil etc. I was going to go ams oil but its $16/L

I think there is a much bigger discrepancy between US/EU then there is US/CAN Im less then 100 miles from the CAN/US boarder which is a bigger piss off when I see the price difference for everything.
