Oil filter housing/bracket replacement

Hey dudes, new to the forum and all that. I have a 22 4runner that my oil filter housing broke off in the braket of while doing an oil change after the dealer replaced it. I had a metal cannister to replace the plastic with, because i had a feeling this would happen. to get the housing out i went at it with a dremel, hammer, and screw driver, but this unfortunately destroyed the threads of the housing bracket PN- 15671-31130. new bracket just came in before I had to fly to NC for work, so im going to replace it tomorrow once im home. This is a question for yall, have you replaced this before? it doesnt look like im going to have a good time, and want to try and get a feel for how bad of a time i will be having. Either way I will be posting pics of the full replacement so the next time someone is in my shoes, they either DONT use a flat head to chip everything out or go absolutely nuts trying to figure out what to do here like i did haha.

I found a handy 3prong adjustable oil filter wrench that attaches to 3/8 socket for stuck (overtightened) filters. Also dry ice can be obtained from most supermarkets to cool and shrink a stuck filter to loosen it if regular ice does not work.
Sorry you have this job to do -a true PIA.
Let us know how the old filter center pipe swaps into your aluminum new filter. I also have a aluminum filter saved for this exact issue.

Oh man, good luck on this one.

If there is a next time, I would use a sawsall with a hack saw blade to cut a line in the plastic threads stuck in the housing, then use a screw driver to pry it inwards.
