Ughhh Hope I didn’t get a shaky 4runner

I just recently had a 2014 4runner delivered from out of state dealer. First time on the interstate today and so much vibration in the steering wheel. Got tires balanced as soon as I hit a town, better, but still vibrating. Putting on new wheels/tires this week and hopefully it’s better. Going to freak if I bought one of the mystery vibrating 4runner that I can’t enjoy on the open road.

if it's still shaking they need to balance again, or you can just live with the shaking and complain about it in one of the long threads filled with people who have unbalanced tires

So many people have posted about not being able figure out the vibration despite multiple tire/wheels and trips to rebalance. Those are the mystery...:becky:

I'm gonna say it: You need to road force balance your wheels on a gsp9700 wheel balancer made by Hunter ... Some Les Schwab shops have it. My new 2018 4Runner had the same issue, I changed the tires and had them balanced as above, and no vibration after that. Regular balance is not going to do it. You need a tech who know what they are doing on that GSP9700.

a shit balancer is going to do a shit job no matter how many times you go

I don't think it's a mystery when everyone knows it's the wheel/tire balance causing the issue........

I think the real mystery is why any competent shop can't fix it and why seemingly intelligent people keep going back to the same shop expecting a different result.

I was able to go on hunters website and locate 3 shops in my city that have that Hunter machine. Thanks for including that info as I really didn’t want to call 45 shops asking if they used road force balancing lol. Got trd wheels/275 ko2’s put on today and had them balance, only got up to 60, in town...but felt a lot better.
