Thanks, it's an all original, October of 1973 build car. They stopped importing them to the US in '74. About 7,000 were ever imported and this one is #6144. 351 Cleveland V8 powered original from the factory in Modena. Have wanted one since I was 11 and we got passed by one on the autobahn doing about a buck thirty and finally got the chance to get this one about 5 years ago.

Now that is a good problem to have!

351 Cleveland has to be one of my all time favorite engines.
My Dad had a built 351c4v in his 73 Montego GT (Huge!). I vividly remember racing a Corvette while on the interstate while towing our aluminum boat. We pulled that Corvette bad! Our boat was bouncing around everywhere back there and I was cheering my Dad from the back seat while my Uncle tried to crawl under the dash. Lol

Panteras have always been an undervalued supercar, but they finally are beginning to get some respect. Prices are climbing, but nothing like the Corvette market. The guy I bought my car from was a multi-millionaire down in San Diego who had 35 vintage corvettes in his hanger with his jet in Phoenix and couldn't figure out why he had this Ford product in the mix. It sold on Ebay and I missed getting a bid in, but emailed him letting him know that if the deal fell through that I was interested. It did, and I drove down with a check the day after he let me know.
I have the original bill of sale to a gentleman on Dec 31, 1974 from Beverly Hills Lincoln/Mercury. Two weeks later he took it to Edelbock in Culver City and had the carb and intake manifold changed and a Sig Erson racing cam put in. Other than that it's stock and I have the parts to restore it to full stock if I ever need to. That was important - I wanted a stock car. Out of the about 7000 ever imported, you've got to figure that about a third of them have been totaled and crushed, and another third have been heavily modified. So I like having one of only about 2000 really original cars left.
I may be living under a freeway overpass someday in the future, but it will be in the cramped confines of my Italian baby!
