Uhg, I totally just scratched my runner so bad...

I scratched the back of my 2006 4runner trying to remove my licence plate. I scratched on the plastic piece that has the back door toyota emblem in it.

damnit.

I feel like such an idiot, something that definitely didn't need to happen.


Anything I can do? The scratch was done with a flat head screw driver.

argh!!!...so irritated right now.

ScratchX or just touch up paint? Its about 1 inch in length. I'm sure its not worth going out and getting a replacement plastic piece..probably too much money. Its going to be such an eye sore though.

what can I do!?!?

NO, I don't have the chrome version, but I have the stock Titanium silver version. I'm just showing you the part I scratched. damn...


EDIT: Anyone provide a part number for the...I guess its called the....Trunk Door handle Cover..along those lines....I need one in Titanium silver...whats the part number or if anyone isn't using one..

How deep is the scratch? Can you get it out with compound?

Then again, is that piece actually painted, or is it body-colored plastic?

Don't about the actual part number but the piece is referred to as the "Rear License Plate Garnish".

Awesome. Thank you for this. I will look up the part if in the long run i can't buff it out or something. It felt pretty deep, but the more I look at it a feel it the more it feels like a smudge..

These are the ones that come up when I type in the part number, but which one exactly do I need if I have a Sports Edition with no reverse camera (I believe thats what there talking about) And when they say silver do they mean the same silver the Titanium color is? Not sure what they mean by W/ Limited or W/o Limited.

W/O Limited means not a limited edition model. In this case it does not matter as the part # for limited and w/o limited are the same.

Not sure if you took care of this but I had to replace the same piece on my 05 V8 SE. I tore it off backing out of the garage bc I am an idiot like that. If you can salvage the piece by all means do it! It is an involved process to replace it. You have to remove the liftgate interior panel and dig around. I can give you the part no. of the one I ordered- I don't have the backup-camera part. Let me know.
