Just wanted to see if anyone else on here is into the UFC. I love it, have been watching it for years and got tickets for UFC 53 in Atlantic City on June 4th. Has anyone been to a live UFC? I am anxious

oooh ooh oooh, I loved watching that thing back in the day. I just got hooked on the Ultimate Fighter TV show on Spike TV. The grand finale and the 4 fighters going at it to win UFC deal. For the main fight, Shamrock went against Ken Franklin. Shamrock must have lost his step as the years rolled by because he slipped twice and cost him the fight.
Where did you get the tickets for UFC? Man I'd love to make it.

They went on sale today.
They have tickets for $35, $75, $150, $250, $350 I think
I got $75 tickets ( Section 221) The place isnt that big so hopefully I will be able to see fine

I like it from the aspect of answering questions. Who would win if? What would happen if? I made some money betting on it up until about ufc mid 40's or so. It was a cinch to bet on if you knew the sport at all during those times. (Tim Sylvia was +500--5 to 1-- against Ricco Rodriguez
) The betting lines are good now and the fighters are so well rounded now that it comes down to who shows up in shape, injuries, luck, etc. It would take way more work than I want to put in to make money now.I really dislike the WWF, hype, crowd pandering aspect, but, of course, that's what will make it successful. I think it's great justice that the ufc inevitably got stuck with 2 soft spoken guys at the top of the light-heavy division who both whipped their coddled, protected, and promoted former light-heavy champ. And Matt Hughes, who's even more soft spoken continues to defy all physical, biological, metaphysical and any other laws I can think of.
Check the PPV channels for Pride Fighting Championships if you like this stuff. One coming up on the 23rd, I believe. It's a Japanese show. Much less pretentious and schizophrenic than the ufc. The Japanese crowds are mostly silent during the action and they actually cheer when a good ground maneuver is executed instead of booing, cussing, and throwing beer.

Yeah, I have seen some Pride shows, it is great. As far as going live to the UFC, it was just something I wanted to see in person, see how it was...I have always watched it on tv and wondered what would it be like going to see it live.
