Under body knock

Pretty sure this has been covered a few times before but I've got a seriously annoying knock going on. Did a look thru under the truck and with the exception of an unseated rear spring (fixed) everything looks in order. One question is should the front driveshaft spin freely? Also any ideas of anything to look at would be appreciated.

Oh and already took it to my local Toyota dealer (Butler in Carmel, In) and of course the master tech "didn't hear anything". Not sure they even drove it because when I first took it in they seemed scared to touch it since it has a lift.

Hi Lmteel,

You'll need to give more information about your 4Runner e.g., trim level, year, mileage, etc... for a proper reply.

Cheers

So it's a 2012 SR5 4x4, 41000 miles, toytec 3 inch lift with Camburg UCA's, spidertrax wheel spacers. Already checked spacers to make sure they're still torqued right, wheels solid, and UCAs were just installed last week. Getting new rear sway bar links tomorrow to see if that's it. Doesn't seem to be play in much of anything.

The front drive shaft does spin freely when in 2HI. Makes it easy to turn the front shaft and line up the Zerk fittings in order to grease them without having to lift up the vehicle. It does not spin freely in 4HI or 4LO when engaged on the part-time 4wheel drive selector.

I don't have any suggestions on the knock, sorry. Could use more information as to when it happens, under what conditions, is it consistently repeatable, during turns, straight-away, bumps, etc.?

At high speeds I can't really hear the knock/clunk. It's very prominent when pulling into my driveway (doesn't make the sound when front end first goes up the curb but does when the rear hits the curb) and make sounds when hitting mostly small bumps at slow speeds, mainly 10-25 mph. I'm thinking it could be sway bar bushings too but they seems fine and really no play. It sounds and feels like something is gonna fall off of my truck. Drives fine though.

Oh and does it in turns and going straight. Doesn't really have a consistant spot where it happens like turning right or left.

Yeah spare tire is good. I did figure it out. It was my rear driver side bottom shock mount that was a tiny bit loose. Easy fix I guess.
