Who cleans the under side of their 4Runners?

I do when I rotate the tires. I have it jacked-up anyway, might as well at least wipe it down.

LOL, ToyotaDoodz. Sprinkler under the truck, I think it's a great idea. Why didnt I think of this... I'm just going to run walking spinkler to get mud or salt softened up. Thanks for cool idea man.

I do it once or twice a year. I spray everything down with an APC and scrub away.

Actually, I sprayed mine with Boeshield this past weekend. We'll see how well it works.

I washed the truck on Sunday, and it was obvious that the metal had a waxy coating on it. Water came off like it does on the surface.

I've also used Boeshield on some things around the yard to see how well it works in the elements.

So far, it's been impressive. But it's only been a week, too.

T-9

This T-9 product, you can spray it on your exhaust pipes etc. and it does not catch fire or just burn off? My '96 4Runner has lots of rust on the exhuast parts under neath and thought maybe I could spray some of this product on it to keep it from rusting any more..

It dries on the metal and leaves a "waxy film" behind (their words). I was surprised that it didn't even have an odor from being on the hot metal. We have sprayed it on anything I could get to underneath two vehicles (Camry and 4Runner), plus the engine compartments.

So far, no smoking, no bad smell.....

I've used Boeshield on outboard motors for years. Coat the power head and you'll never see rust in there, not even on a motor running in saltwater. And no odor from burning off. Great stuff.

For painting exhaust pipes use header paint, it is high temp
and availble at most parts stores and comes in many colors.

I guess it depends what you mean, I have a few special brushes I use just for the underbody and under the hood. I usually wash every week in the warm months and every other in the cold, and I do the underbody everytime. Here's what I do, I wash the wheel wells and mud guards as well as the frame behind wheels and fuel filler hose, then I wash under running boards, whole length of frame rails, each cross member and all skid plates including front. In the back I get the end of the frame, rear diff and shafts as well as the tow package. Then for the real fun, I wax all door jams, under hood and my rims, and yes I know I'm anal.

I took my baby in basically a mud pit it to a car wash to use the power wash (sorry about the mud) but i would just let it rip on the undercarrage for like 5 min and mud would still drip down. Muding was fun at the time but that mud will last if a dont get it. now i need to wait to summer to really get under there.
