Underbody Wash?

Does anyone know a place or carwash company that can lift your 4R so i can hose down all that mud underneath? It's kinda pain in the buttt crawling underneath with a hose.

I use this Karcher underbody wand with a pressure washer. I don't think a garden hose has enough pressure to get off all the muck, unless your scrubbing it with a brush too.

I used pressure washer. It's a pain in the @ss to wash the r4unner after offroad. It's not only mud under the body. The worst part is clean the dust everywhere inside and outside. Normally, it took me 3-4 hrs to clean it up after an offroad trip.

Yep, that is how you do it. Park it in your yard, an place the sprinkler under the front for 30 minutes, and rear for 30 minutes. Mud is not oily, or painted on. It does not take much to get it off. Sometimes there are little pebbles left in strange places.

If you put it on a lift to clean it up, you would be miserable, having a muddy rain coming down on your head.

Drive it up on a pair of ramps...first front, then rear.

Actually, the salt water of the ocean will be much worst for the undercarriage than the mud.

If you dont know already, I am a sarcastic M*fer. I was just making light of the situation. I would never drive into the ocean....maybe cross a river or stream but that is bout it.

Now, maybe if someone made a 10 inch lift for 4R's, then we could clean the undercarriage.

x2 for the sprinkler idea. Put it underneath your 4Runner and let it do the dirty work for you. Move it slightly every 15-20 minutes or so and you'll be amazed at how much mud it will remove.

The problem with the sprinkler solution is that my neighbors and HOA (Home Owner's Assoc.) may not like it. HOA is pretty strict where i am at.

Years ago, southern California had water rationing and banned car washing. However, you could still wash your tennis court. So one of the late-night hosts said he called the water department and asked about washing the car on the tennis court. The response: "I think you found a loophole."

A buddy of mine lives in a community that the HOA covers his water bill. As you might have guessed, the HOA prohibits washing your car. I just recommend him washing it inside the garage, but go gentle on hosing it down. It's no different than parking your car in the garage after its been out in the rain.
