Undercoating and brake lines

I made an appointment to get my truck undercoated to protect it from the salty Midwest winters. The undercoating company told me they will be very meticulous with the application, but the will cover the brake line down the center of the vehicle. I don’t know much about undercoating but a covered brake line doesn’t seem like a big issue to me.... am I wrong?

/Real curiosity as I want to do the Undercoat

Why would a coating applied to the brake lines mean we should run away? is it that the coatings are no good? or there is some reason why the lines cannot be coated?

As my friend who is in his 60's remembers oil coating the bottom of his cars in MI back in the day, why would this route be better long term?

There is no problem undercoating your rigid brake lines IF you use a fluid undercoating like Fluid Film. It will protect them from corrosion.
