Underseat subwoofer fitment with Weathertech of Husky floor mats

Hello everyone,

Just checking to see if anyone has experience with fitting an underseat subwoofer under driver seat (specifically looking at the KSC-SW11) with either the Weathertech or Husky floor mats. Any interference issues?

I'm leaning more toward the Weathertechs, but would like to know if anyone has fit any model of underseat subwoofer with either of the floor mats.

If you have power seats there is no way it's going to fit. My small-ish amp barely clears the driver seat bottom when it moves front to back. And that's with no floor mats.

Also, consider getting a real sub. I had one of those all-in-one units and it was really disappointing. Ended up with a 10" sealed pioneer in the back. Still quite compact but much, much better bass. :rockon:

Fortunately, I don't have power seats. I believe it was Jhelm's build thread that showed the kenwood powered sub I mentioned under his seat. So, I don't think fitment under the seat should be a problem. Really, just concerned if the Weathertech's will interfere. (Looked at more pics of the Husky's and their aesthetically not to my liking, so they're out of the running.)

As far as it being underpowered compared to a conventional and larger sub, I'll accept what it is. I'm just looking for a little bass improvement that's not taking up any other useable space in the interior.

Gives an idea of the powered sub under the non-power seat. I enjoyed mine for what it was! Make sure you get one with, and wire in, the bass control knob. Some songs are better with lots, and some aren't. The tuning was key!

I also recommend a powered 10" sub, that's what I have. It's just a larger version of the underseat ones, which are usually a 6" or 8" sub with no enclosure. A powered sub has no amp to wire since it's in the speaker housing so it's really easy to remove. 3 plugs and mine is disconnected and out of the vehicle, I move it in and out all the time and it's not a headache at all.

I can understand that the under the seat kind are also useful. My 4Runner has rear heaters so not an option.

I have a 10" off brand, powered sub and for filling in the low end of music, it great. It was only $100 and fits perfectly under the drivers seat. It's not concert loud but that's not what I was looking for. It's good punchy bass in a small package. I don't have the floor mats though but there is a good amount of space between the top of the sub and the bottom of the seat
