Uniden 520XL CB Installed w/ pics

Got the CB installed today. Was about a 2 beer job (approximately an hour) with a buddy. I use the ash tray as storage all the time so I didn't want to get rid of it for a small Cobra. Mounted it under the ignition. Made sure the ambient temperature sensor wasn't blocked. No wires by my feet and plenty of leg room with where it's mounted.


Still to do:

1. Move the mounting bracket back away from the body. I don't like that the coax is being semi bent against the bumper.

2. Get rid of the Steelers-esque Sticker :flamethrwoer2:

3. Repaint the rear bumper plastic...again...lol.

Break Down:

Uniden 520XL w/ PA out - $65.99

4" Firestik - $15

Trunk mount - $8.99

18' Stainless Braided Coax - $24.99

Misc. parts (fuses, wire connectors, beer) - ~$15

Grand Total : ~$130

This is what I used. Went to a semi-ocal family owned business to pick it up

thats exactly where mine is! best spot...but I'm a lefty so I mounted the mic on the opposite side, by the rheostat

and I got an "mirror mount" antenna (for the mirrors on big rigs) and clamped it onto the roof basket!
